If you’re an expecting mother, this is an exciting time in your life. It can also be a trying time as your body courses through its myriad of chemical and physiological changes causing your body to morph. The benefits of pre-natal exercise are numerous and include control of gestational diabetes and pregnancy-induced hypertension. When you participate in our Mommy-to-be program here at Active Bodies we will put you through a program to help keep you and your precious unborn baby healthy and fit throughout the term of your pregnancy.
We, here at Active Bodies, would like to extend our congratulations on your new bundle of joy! After you’ve had an appropriate amount of recovery from delivering your baby, you’re ready to get involved in an exercise program. Let’s get you back on track to where you were pre-pregnancy….or better! If you find yourself inseparable from your new baby, we will simply devise a workout plan that includes the both of you! But, bear in mind that the female body will return back to normal at its own pace, and initially it might be more prudent to focus on improving your health and wellness. The toning and firming will soon follow.

The importance of participating in our Golf Strength & Flexibility program to reduce the incidence of injury cannot be stated enough. Undergoing our flexibility routine will help lower the chances of golf-related injuries. In addition, enjoy the benefits of increased range of motion, improved balance and a longer driving distance.
If you have a physical limitation or a medical condition we can devise a workout routine to help you with your fitness objectives. Don’t let your condition prevent you from engaging in a fitness program. Here at Active Bodies we have worked with individuals with various physical limitations, including fibromyalgia, RSD (reflexive sympathetic dystrophy), limited mobility, severe arthritis, total joint replacements, organ transplant recipients, sciatica, etc. Whether you wish to elevate your current fitness levels or improve upon your own physical limitations we will create an exercise program to satisfy your needs
Some medical conditions that require special considerations and care during an exercise routine are diabetes, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) prenatal, metabolic syndrome (obesity), asthma and cardiovascular disease. Sometimes these conditions require a medical clearance from your doctor. Once we’ve established your limitations we can begin the careful process of devising your workout routine.

Here at Active Bodies we believe that the greatest benefit that one can receive from a regular exercise program is improved quality of living. Engaging in a regular workout routine will simply make one feel better in all facets of life. It can make doing rudimentary activities easier like standing up from a sofa to walking a flight of stairs to more fluidity swinging a golf club. And, there’s something to be said of the positive psychological effects of exercising. The after-effects of exercise can be energizing in and of itself. Simply being able to perform many of the daily activities without hindrance can be very rewarding. There’s really no limit to how good one can feel as a result of a regular exercise program.
There is a medical benefit, as well. When combined with a proper eating plan an exercise routine can help to slow or offset many diseases and clinical conditions that might otherwise worsen due to inactivity and poor diet. This is not to say that exercise will prevent these harmful conditions but it may lessen their effects or even the chances of them occurring.
